Hi! English Teacher는 생활정보교육 프로그램으로, 민트영어 정명진 매니저와 화상·전화영어 현지전문가가 직접 출연해 ‘집에서 떠나는 어학연수’를 경험하게 도와주는 영상뉴스입니다. 색다른 영어 교육 프로그램의 시작으로 온라인 영상프로그램의 새로운 장을 선보이며, 시청자들의 지식교양을 고취시키도록 하는 프로그램입니다.

Mark Hello, Mr. Jung! How are you Picasso of Korea? (안녕, 한국의 피카소! 잘 지내?)

Jung I practice to draw. I am getting better these days.(그림 그리기 연습을 해서 요즘 실력이 점점 늘고 있어요.)
Mark That’s good to hear! Practice makes perfect! Well, we are also going to draw today. so are you ready to draw. (그거 참 좋은 소식이네! 연습은 완벽을 만들지! 음, 오늘도 역시 우린 그림을 그릴거야.)
Jung Yes. I am ready to draw!(좋아요, 그림 그릴 준비 됐어요!)
Mark Okay. Let's start! Why don’t you draw a pig’s face? (좋아, 시작해보자! 돼지 얼굴을 그려보겠니?)

Jung Oh. Okay. pig’s face. (네)
Jung Picasso is done! Ta-dan!!(저 피카소가 완성했어요! 짜잔!!)
Mark That’s a good drawing? (음..... 잘 그린 그림인가?)
Jung I’m done, Mission accomplished! (다 했어요, 미션 완료!)

Mark Aha! It’s cute! You did a good job! You are becoming like a real Picasso! (정말 귀엽다! 정말 잘 그렸어. 정말 피카소 뺨치겠는걸?)
Jung Thank you! (고맙습니다. 잘 그린 건가요?)
Mark Now, I need you to follow instructions for the colors. (이제 색을 채워보자.)

Jung Yes. I am listening now. (네. 잘 듣고 있어요.)
Mark OKay. Color the left ear with red. (왼쪽 귀를 빨간색으로 칠해봐.)
Jung Okay. I am going to color it red now. Hold on! (아 color는 칠하라는 의미군요, 네 그럼 빨간색으로 칠해볼게요.)

Mark Good. (좋아요)
Jung I'm done! (다 했어요)
Mark Now, color the right ear with yellow. I think you love the color yellow. Am I correct, Mr. Jung? (이제 오른쪽을 노란색으로 칠해봐. 내 생각에 너 노란색 좋아하는 거 같은데, 맞니?)
Jung Wow! What a surprise, you still remember I like yellow! (제가 좋아하는 색을 기억하고 계시다니 정말 놀랍네요!)

Mark Of course, Mr. Jung I remember because I am your teacher! (당연하지 나는 네 선생님인걸?)
Jung Okay! Yellow color! (다했어요.)
Mark Good. (좋아요)
Jung I'm done, teacher. (다 했어요 선생님)
Mark Wow. good job Mr. Jung. Now, I want you color the nose red. (정말 잘했어. 이제 코를 빨갛게 칠해보자.)

Jung Oh, red again teacher? It seems like you love red. Don’t you? (또 빨강이요? 선생님 빨간색을 좋아하시나봐요.)
Mark Yes, I do love red. But wait, I want you to color the nose with yellow again this time! (응 빨간색 좋아해. 잠깐만 기다려봐. 이번에는 그냥 코를 노란색으로 다시 칠해보자.)

Jung Ah? Okay, Hold on. I put the red. (아? 좋아요. 기대려요. 빨간색을 칠할게요)
Jung Oh my god. (오 마이 갓)
Jung And I will color yellow again? (다시 노란색을 칠해요?)
Mark That's right. (맞아요)
Jung Teacher! But I already colored it with red! Why do I have to color it with another color again? (이미 빨간색으로 칠해버렸는데. 그냥 다른 색으로 다시 칠하는 건 어떨까요?)
Mark You know what, Just do what you wanna do, do what you wanna do, do what you wanna do!(그냥 네가 하고 싶은 걸 해, 네가 하고 싶은걸.)

Jung Wow you’re singing a song do what you wanna do, it’s amazing! Anyway I am doing what you wanna do (노래를 부르시네요, 멋져요! 그나저나 저는 선생님이 하고 싶은 걸 하고 있죠.)

Jung Oh my! The color is different now! It’s like magic magic magic magic magic magic! (색이 다르네! 마치 마술 같아요.)

Mark Exactly! So if we mix the color red with the color yellow, we are going to have what? (맞아! 빨간색과 노란색을 섞으면 어떤 색이 나오지?)

Jung Orange! Am I right? (주황색! 맞죠?)
Mark Yes, and that is called color mixing or combining colors. We combine two colors and we will have a new color instantly! (맞아, 그리고 이걸 바로 색깔 섞기 또는 색깔 조합이라고 말하는 거야. 두 가지 색을 합치면 새로운 색이 나오는 거지.)

Jung Ahhh.. Color mixing or combining colors. I want to combine more it’s fun! (색깔 섞기 또는 조합이라. 더 많은 걸 섞어보고 싶어요. 이거 재밌네요!)
Mark Oh sure! How about the inner circles of the pig’s eyes? I want you to color them blue. (당연하지! 그럼 돼지의 눈동자 안쪽 색을 칠해보는 건 어때? 파란색으로 칠해봐.)

Jung Oh? This one is not blue.(이건 파란색이 아니에요.)
Jung Oh! It's blue. I'm done. Okay! Like western people with blue eyes! I'm Done teacher. (마치외국인들 눈동자 색 같아요. 다했어요, 선생님)

Mark Now, combine it with green. Tell me what color you see. (이제 초록색을 섞어봐. 어떤 색이 보여?)
Jung Okay. with green, Okay. (초록색이라, 알겠어요.)

Jung I see. blue green eyes. It's beautiful color!(오, 초록빛이 도는 파란색 눈동자가 보여요. 정말 아름다운 색깔이네요!)
Mark Yes it is, now the pig has blue green eyes. Very good! (맞아, 돼지의 눈동자가 초록빛이 도는 파란 눈동자가 된 거야. 잘했어!)

Jung Yes, the pig has blue green eyes. I made it! (돼지가 초록빛이 도는 파란 눈을 갖게 됐네요. 제가 만든 거예요.)

Mark Alright! Now let’s try another one. Why don’t we try using the yellow and blue color and see what comes out! Let’s try it on the pig’s mouth. (맞아. 이번에는 다른 걸 해보자. 노란색이랑 파란색을 써보고 어떤 색이 나오는지 보자. 돼지 입에 칠해봐.)

Jung Oh. Okay. let’s do that and make an experiment! but There's no mouth. I need to draw the mouth again. Hold on. (좋아요 한번 실험을 해보죠! 하지만 입이 없어요. 입을 다시 그려야 될 거 같아요. 잠시만요.)
Mark Okay. Take you are time Mr Jung.(그래, 한 번 해봐.)
Mark Okay. That's good.(그거 좋은데.)

Jung Mouth and it's yellow. It's kind like it's not mouth just tongue.(입이 노란색이에요. 그런데 입 같지 않고 혀 같아요.)
Mark Blue.(파랑색을 칠해봐.)
Jung Okay. I'm done.(좋아요, 다 했어요.)
Mark Oh look what color do we have now? (어떤 색이 나왔어?)

Jung Aha I think it became green, mixing colors is really interesting! (점점 초록색이 되는 거 같은데요. 색을 섞는 건 정말 흥미롭네요!)
Mark That's right. And I think that is how Picasso did his masterpiece, mixing colors! (피카소가 이렇게 색을 섞으면서 자신의 걸작을 만든거지!)

Jung Wow! I think my pig drawing became a masterpiece as well! (제가 그린 돼지 그림도 걸작이 될 수 있을 거 같아요!)
Mark Good job! Well, I guess it’s time to say goodbye. I will see you again next time! (정군은 정말 좋은 학생이야. 이제 수업을 마쳐야겠다. 다음에 또 봐!)
Jung Okay. Bye teacher! (안녕히 계세요, 선생님)

color라는 단어가 paint 처럼 색을 칠하다라는 동사로 쓰일 수 있다는 것, 그리고 색깔위에 다시 색깔을 덧칠하는 것을 Combining Color 라고 표현하는 것, 이 두가지는 오늘 꼭 기억 해 주세요. 여러분도 이제 색깔 표현, 보다 쉽게 할 수 있겠죠? 자 그럼 저는 다음시간에 또 찾아올게요. 꼭 연습하세요! 그럼 안녕~~
